La marcha gay que se realizó en Belgrado (Serbia) por primera vez, se ha visto empañada por los ataques violentos de grupos homófobos.
Los choques ocurrieron el domingo 10 de octubre cuando grupos homófobos, que ya habían adelantado que “resistirían” el desfile gay por considerarlo “vergonzoso”, irrumpieron en la manifestación.
El resultado ha sido 140 heridos y más de 200 detenidos, 11 coches policías quemados y daños importantes en la ciudad. Diferentes medios de comunicación lo han llamado masacre debido a la magnitud del acontecimiento.
Recuerdo que en Bolivia, la primera marcha del orgullo gay en la ciudad de Santa Cruz también se vio empañada por grupo de personas intolerantes, el resultado fue lanzar piedras e insultar a las personas que desfilaban expresando su libertad.
Es bastante más sorprendente en Serbia ya que geográficamente se encuentra en Europa, donde muchos pensamos que existe un nivel más alto de tolerancia, pero aquel domingo se demostró al mundo que aún existen grupos violentos capaces de empañar las reivindicaciones de los derechos de los homosexuales.

The gay parade held in Belgrade (Serbia) for the first time, has been marred by violent attacks by homophobic groups.
The clashes occurred on Sunday 10 October when anti-gay groups, which had announced "resist" the gay parade for being "shameful", the group burst at the demonstration.
The result was 140 wounded and 200 arrested, 11 police cars burned and considerable damage in the city. Different media have called slaughter due to the magnitude of the event.
I remember that in Bolivia, the first gay pride march in the city of Santa Cruz also was marred by group of bigots, the result was throwing stones and insulting people who marched to express their freedom.
Is rather surprising in Serbia and which is geographically in Europe, where many think there is a higher level of tolerance, but that Sunday it showed the world that there are still violent groups capable of tarnishing the claims of gay rights.
